These guys are so adventurous, such free-thinkers, so very much in love, and so FUN! We all went down to old St. Thomas, a Mormon settlement founded in 1865, and abandoned when it was flooded by the rising waters of Lake Mead in 1938. In more recent times, as the waters of Lake Mead fall and rise, the town is exposed during dry spells. After a drive to the gorgeous Valley of Fire National Park, we got to the trail head to St. Thomas and hiked in. I think my favorite part of St. Thomas was the dry reeds, and the natural vista punctuated by occasional concrete foundations of the abandoned settlement.
Fingers crossed, hoping the 100 year old floor doesn’t collapse 0_OThese guys have a very well developed sense of the dramatic. Very camera-aware in the very best way – playful, pretty, fun.
